After 10 days of exhaustive testing the new board that I have been working on is open. The board is moderated and you will need to register to post. Please come on over and look around. Read the guidelines (they are user friendly) and leave an intro before you post. Guests will only be able to view the guidelines section, you will need to register to view the rest of the board.
Sorry, guests can't see anything at all. So much for my exhaustive testing.
There's a special section set up to talk about John and while he's on hiatus there are plenty of other topics you might like.
Sueanny, the email registration is automatic. You should get something right away. Post again if you don't get it. I'll get you registered one way or another. I can register you myself if you email me. The email should be there shortly.
There seems to be a burp in the email registration system. There are at least 10 of you who are still reading validating. Thank you for using normal screen names, because at least I can tell who you are. I'll see if I can get your pre-registered or something. Hang in there. This is the first time I've registered people. I'll try to move it along.
Edit: Another thought. Be sure to check your bulk mail folder. The validation might be filed with the spam.
Thanks everybody. I've been working on that thing day and night for 10 days. 38 members so far and people are posting instead of staring at the screen. I think it's off to a good start. Anyone who was sitting in the validation que has been validated now and should be able to view & post. I don't know why that took so long. I'm still learning my way around, but I'm glad people like it. We can consider it our temporary home while John is in between "official" boards.
Shades of Red is hosted on Server 13 and that server is currently down. They are working on the problem. Hopefully it will be back up soon. I was going to upload some new smilies for us, now we will just have to wait.
I'm snapping this up for you Queen because "Shades of Red" is a terrific site. What an incredible amount of work you have done. You've tried to think of everything to make the site user friendly, as well as interesting and fun. The attention to detail is impressive. Thanks again for investing so much time and energy in the endeavor. (I don't know how you accomplished it in the middle of a busy holiday season!)
