Boy I suuuure would love for John to cover this song on his cd<ahem> You guys make think im trying to give off some subtle or not so subtle hints what being on the Maverick board saying this and all. Your wrong though, im uh, just thinking outloud. Yeah, just thinking outloud. I should also mention in the concert clips I have seen of John singing MFV the crowd has been going nuts. Girls shrieking!! Yep, it would make sense to have this song covered on his cd. Yep! Wink

The world really has changed, the music industry is no longer driven by money and connections, it's driven by the mere words of random folks on a free message board. A grave lesson for us all

Wow, Aimee, posting this as an entirely new thread was awfully subtle of you. Smiler Oh well, I'll shamelessly add myself to the MFV bandwagon. Count me in!

I definitely want this on his CD. Since I'm not going to be able to attend a concert, the videos and MP3's of the concert is as close as I can get and My Funny Valentine is just freaking amazing. Probably my favorite performance of his so far.

Missy, if you see 10 more threads on this topic, all started by me, will you guys please have some sort of intervention for me? Wink

Hee! Definitely will Aimee, definitely, definitely (tm John) will. Wink Still, I think we may have to steel ourselves not to be disappointed if MFV isn't on his album.

You know something similarly sad and pathetic? I so wanted to hear John's full version of "The Way You Look Tonight" that when he didn't sing it on movie night (it's from "Swing Time"), I was kinda disappointed. "As Time Goes By" was good, but I only appreciated it upon later listenings. Kinda weird huh?

I liked As Time Goes By too, but I wish he would have chosen Singing in the Rain or as you said The Way you Look Tonight Especially the latter because that was what got our attention in the auditions in the first place, and a full, well, 1 1/2 minute version would have been nice. Some other choices on Movie Night I would have preferred?

My Funny Valentine(yeah im obsessed) or Lonesome Town and Quentin would have liked that since it's on the Pulp Fiction soundstrack.

Actually, we're prolly pretty lucky he didn't do anything related to Quentin. Remember how the guy said he wanted to make fun of John on the Conan O'Brien show? Yeah, I have a feeling if John would have been off a little bit, he would have been ripped to shreds by all four 'judges' that night.

Gotta agree with Missy on that one, John was fortunate enough to do really well that he couldn't get dissed. As for MFV....I nearly cried when he sang it two nights ago, it was absolutly beautiful and I would just love to hear it on a CD....*ehem* Big Grin

Now see, I would think doing a song on QT's soundtrack would make him feel a little too flattered to rip him apart Wink

Quentin T. is a sore spot with me. The nerve of hm to say he wanted to make fun of him? Anyone can make fun of QT! I mean he's the weirdest looking and acting person I've seen. I think he has a crush on John and acts like that to cover up the crush!!! Sorry, I just had to let that out!!

Doubt it, I mean, even if it is true, he doesn't have a chance against the likes of Neil and Ryan...maybe thats why he was grumpy...maybe thats why Simon is grumpy... hmmm......

Good points everyone. Quentin did actually joke about having a crush on John, and waiting till John turns 18 to call him. However, he has a big line to stand in, he has to stand behind many fangirls and Mrs.Robinsons(not that im a Mrs.Robinson mind you *ahem*)and Neil, Ryan and even Simon gets to stand in line ahead of him. Sorry Quentin, you should have been a little nicer.
