First of all, last night was pretty bad. We had about seven new admits on the hospital floor where I work. Plus we had a bunch of vital signs and paperwork and everybody on the whole floor was diabetic and needed blood sugars done and this one guy was really confused and trying to get out of bed all night and yank out his IV.
To make matters worse, we were short one person who called in sick. Then when I finally got off work this morning, the bus was running late and it was starting to get really cold because a cold front was coming in.
Once I finally got home, I could'nt sleep at all! So I only wound up sleeping a few hours before I got up this afternoon. Then when I got up, I called the bank to make sure my paycheck had gone in the bank through the direct deposit and guess what- it had'nt! So I called everywhere in the hospital trying to find my check and I was getting mad because everyone in the offices there are off or on vacation for the holidays. Finally, my check arrived in the mail (I guess there was some kind of problem with the deposit because it is a holiday), too late to put it in the bank but in plenty of time for me to make red-faced calls to all of the answering machines I had yelled at wanting to know where the heck it was at.
So after all that I went across to the grocery, stood in a very long line, grabbed the plastic bag, and spilled all my stuff all over the checkout counter!
Some days you just have to find the humor in every day situations and just roll with it and say "this is the way this day goes." My saying is always "someday this is going to seem funny."........

Yeah, I know those days. Sorry you're having one. Take a deep breath, exhale slowly and think of John.

Actually, it got even worse afterward!
I was going to work and the driver of my bus did not show up! That meant I was stuck and now I was late to work. So I had to call the floor, explain what happened and then call a cab, which cost me ten bucks and it's only ten minutes away!
Today is much better though. Last night I finished my last work shift of the week and now I get to be off for four days! That is the good thing about working the long shifts. You only work three days a week.
