FANTASIA’S RISING STAR

America’s favorite idol, Fantasia, will be performing on the United Negro College Fund's An Evening Of Stars Tribute to Stevie Wonder slated to air in January.

In addition to her single, “Summertime,” from her debut album Free Yourself, Fantasia will perform a rendition of Stevie’s “Superstition,” a song for which he won his first two Grammy Awards.

Other confirmed guests for the evening include Toni Braxton, India.Arie, Yolanda Adams, Smokey Robinson, and Quincy Jones.

Fantasia also recently made "American Idol" history as she collected four Grammy nods, more than any other "Idol" before her. Her single, “Free Yourself,” was nominated for Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Performance, her rendition of “Summertime” was nominated in the Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance category and her album, Free Yourself, was nominated for Best R&B Album.

The UNCF An Evening of Stars Tribute to Stevie Wonder was taped live this past September at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, Calif. The four hour tribute special will air on Jan. 6.

Hi to you, too! I'm hanging in there and yourself? I've not posted at JPL's in forever but I've been over a few times just to read thru things. Did you see John's last post here? Seems as if he and Maverick have parted ways and he is currently "label-less." He starts college this month so he can concentrate on that aspect of his life more fully I suppose. He said in his post that he looks forward to bringing us new music and live shows....I don't know when that may be, but I look forward to it myself hehehe
